New Store

About Janesville Hardware and Lumber

I started The Woodsmith, a cabinet shop, in Arcata, California in 1972, in 1975 we moved to Montana, and in 1980 we came to Janesville, California and built a cabin in the woods, and re-started the cabinet shop on my folks Main Street property in Janesville. In 1992 I started selling tools and hardware out of a 600 square foot building across the street from the new store location. With the intent that a hardware store would be successful, and I would need to expand, I bought 4 commercial acres across Main Street from our current location. We broke ground for the new 18,000 square foot structure on May 12, 2008.

We also manufacture the Infinity Station, ergonomically adjustable computer workstations for adults and children. The Infinity Stations are ADA compliant and suitable for most 6 year old children through adults, sitting to standing. The Infinity Station has the only electrically adjustable monitor lift on the market that rises with and above the main work surface: http://www.InfinityStation.com
